I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment to help improve your situation, increase personal insights, and find meaning, purpose, and direction.

I work with adults of every age, and am comfortable working with individuals identifying as hetrosexual or LGBTQ2S. I offer both shorter and longer term therapy.

If you are beginning to explore medication options for depression or anxiety, I work collaboratively with you and your medical practitioner to ensure you are well supported and that advocacy and psychoeducation is maximized.

I have trained in a variety of evidence based therapies. My clients and I find the following therapy models most beneficial in our work together:

    • Insight oriented therapies
    • Cognitive Based Therapy (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
    • AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy)
    • Narrative Therapy
    • DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy)
    • Solution Focussed Therapy

PROCESS
Our process begins with a 15 – 20 minute phone intake. Here you have the chance to ask questions, discuss scheduling, and administrative details. Sessions are 50 – 60 minutes long.

After meeting in person for our first session, we can explore the possibility of using web or telephone for future appointments. My counselling office is located in Kitsilano, Vancouver.

I abide by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors’ Code of Ethical Conduct and Standards of Clinical Practice.

Do you find yourself investing energy in hiding what’s really going on for you? Now might be a good time to reach out. As mental health professionals we carry large client caseloads, work in systems with their own policies, limits and regulations, and often have complex high risk clients.

Many of us feel:

    • Caught off guard with surges of emotion
    • Self doubt, second guessing our work capabilities
    • Anxious and/or fatigued
    • An inability to cope at home and work
    • Sleep deprived
    • Stuck with negative thoughts and energy
    • An increase in social isolation
    • A distancing from intimate relationships
    • That we need more support than we are getting

I provide a safe, non-judgemental, and supportive therapeutic space where we can replenish self compassion and affirm the importance of focusing on what matters the most. My hope is that you not stay silent and instead place importance on the quality of your own mental health.
